Positioned along a critical stretch of Will Clayton Parkway, between South Houston Avenue and Wilson Road—this segment serves as a key gateway corridor supporting access to George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and the surrounding Humble area. As northeast Harris County experiences sustained residential and commercial growth, this portion of the roadway has become increasingly vital, carrying higher traffic volumes comprised of commuters, freight movement and airport-related traffic.
Will Clayton Parkway Segment 1, a Harris County roadway improvement project designed to enhance east-west mobility in the rapidly developing area, was initiated to address these demands by improving roadway capacity, upgrading drainage infrastructure, and enhancing overall corridor performance.
Targeted geotechnical work on an active corridor
ATL provided geotechnical engineering services including subsurface evaluation necessary to support pavement design, roadway improvements, and drainage-related infrastructure to strengthen a heavily utilized connector that supports both local mobility and regional access.
