A westward corridor for one of Texas's fastest-growing regions
As Fort Bend County emerged as one of the fastest-growing regions in Texas, the need for a reliable westward transportation corridor became necessary. The Westpark Tollway Extension & Bridge Project — a major infrastructure project including a tollway and multiple bridge crossings across previously undeveloped land — was designed to unlock mobility, connect master-planned communities, and relieve mounting congestion along FM 1093 and surrounding arterial roads.
Extending the tollway deeper into Fort Bend County, the project includes the development of main lanes and a network of five key bridge structures: Texas Heritage Parkway, Cross Creek Ranch, Flewellen Creek, FM 1463, and Charger Way. These corridors now serve rapidly expanding communities like Cross Creek Ranch — once ranchland, now a thriving residential hub and one of the most desirable and connected regions in the Greater Houston area.
Geotechnical insight beneath every mile and crossing
Our role focused on providing geotechnical engineering services, delivering the subsurface insights required to support roadway embankments, bridge foundations, and the long-term performance of this critical infrastructure. The project corridor is underlain by soft, compressible clays common to Fort Bend County, which present challenges related to settlement, slope stability, and long-term pavement performance under sustained traffic loads.
At the foundation of this transformation is a deep understanding of the ground itself. Our geotechnical services helped ensure that each mile of roadway and every bridge crossing was built to perform — supporting the daily movement of thousands of drivers and strengthening the infrastructure that keeps this region moving forward.
